i absolutely adore surfing while the sun is setting

yesterday evening i bailed on cooking dinner and instead went surfing with pretty little miss tanika

long beach was TINY . totally tiny. but perfect for a little grovel on my 5'5 hutch piggy .

my new friend accompanied me. and almost strangled me. while i was trying to surf.

after a while i gave up on trying to take photo's.

and just surfed until dark

like seriously this year has gone far to fast. i cant believe a year ago right now i was on my way to the cederberg for the Hoffman family Holiday. feeling all depressed and sad for myself. looking back i realise what an absolute dork i was getting upset over a boy. so not worth the effort.

BUT NEW YEARS .. drooooooove all the way to town.
Cam and i had dinner with my parents at simply asia.. slightly random . I LOVE ASIAN CUISINE.

My Granny Lives in Richmond Hill Port Elizabeth

An area where upgrades are being done ,one street is looking pretty trendy..There are still a couple weirdo’s walking around . i discovered this in the internet Cafe. SERIOUS INBBREDS…. But a couple streets down are cute little houses, jacaranda Tree’s and restaurants. i saw a guy with skinny jeans,nerdy glasses and a leather jacket…P.E has POTENTIAL.. this store Sophie Blue is quite amazing aswell… i fell in heart with a Vintage Warthog oiled Bag… no words can describe how much i wish i had 3K to throw around….

I was told to visit VoVo Telo…soooo i rounded up the troops and headed down the road

to my pure dismay the bakery and deli was closed…. i had heard there are tasty tasty treats and very good cappucino’s there

maybe next time i visit granny and granpa.

soooo with our switch blades in hand we ventured off onto i think its albany road??? no no maybe not.

Memory Lane, delightful little restaurant coffee shop.. had a very frothy cappu … frothy frothy foam is my favourite part..oh oh if i could bottle that stuff and spoon it up all day i would… apple blueberry cake tasted very nice aswell….thats it…….

I am starting to enjoy Cape Town.... a whole lot more...more than i used to . i dont always want to be somewhere else with someone else anymore...it makes my life a little easier..

SO this weekend i had quite a pleasant time
Went to the Anti Whaling Protest
Met some pretty people in Town.... girls that sing and play guitar are quite wonderful
After hanging out for a couple hours listening and sipping Sweet Rose'

a car guard decided to very ungraciously grab my foot and yank me from the branches.

after that i drove into SimonsTown to pay my Traffic fine
but the system was down, and the officer that gave me the fine didnt specify that i am a learner Driver .
even though my dad was in the car with me they want to charge me R500 for being an unlicensed driver rather than R200 for driving without a license in my vehicle or on my person...
SUCKS BIG TIME.. Going to Court tomorrow to plead my case
i need every cent i have to save for a slr camera

But i was in mozambique a couple weeks ago. and while surfing Ponta a Pod of dolphins decided to play
with us.. Dolphins are magical creatures . and breaks my heart to think what humans are capable of.
so much harm and grotesque cruelty 'WHERE IS THE LOVE'

Every year, in the small coastal town of Taiji in Japan, small schools of dolphin, porpoise and pilot whales are lured into a hidden cove, with the help of nets and loud instruments which confuse the dolphin's sensitive sonar capabilities. Once captured, the dolphins are left for a day to calm down, before being mercilessly killed by fisherman. Some of the dolphins are sold to dolphinariums around the world, at a huge profit. This brutal massacre, the largest of its kind in the world, lasts for approximately 6 months.

Since the hunt began two days ago, 15 pilot whales and 14 dolphins have already been murdered. Although the Japanese Government claims that the marine mammals are hunted for food, it is more than likely that such an orchestrated and ruthless event, which sees 23 000 licenses being issued to fisherman across the country, is simply a means of 'pest control' given that the Government views local dolphins as a nuisance to the booming fishing industry.

Following on from a demonstration which took place in Cape Town, outside the Japanes Embassy yesterday, Green Renaissance, the environmental arm of African Renaissance Productions, in conjunction with Save Japan's Dolphins, took to the streets, in an effort to raise awareness of the barbaric hunt, by hanging bloody dolphins from pedestrian bridges all around the city..

We wanted to really push the boundaries by making highly visible protest activations that were accessible to everyday people, people walking down the Sea Point Promenade, students at the Technikon, or simply pedestrians and motorists making their way through the city. Hopefully, activations like these will get people talking, and might even put pressure on the Japanese Government to stop what they're doing.

The "Stop the Dolphin Slaughter" awareness campaign was a huge success with hundreds of people stopping and enquiring as to what we were doing. We hope to send a clear message to our local Japanese consulate, one of many around the world, that we will not tolerate harm to one of Nature's most intelligent animals.

Its weird that something that may seem so small and insignificant
can actually mean so much to a person
ever since i was 12 at my first South African Junior Champs i
DREAMT
of being that person that gets to be called Captain of the Western Province Team
That person that gets to go up and get THAT trophy(the presidents cup for the winning province)
8 years later
im sitting crying my eyes out
because finally after i have won every single division from U/14 to u/20
i get the honour of being Captain
but i have to share that with a boy
because girls arent good enough
I lost early in the contest and didnt defend my u/20 title
but the most devastating thing
was not getting the honour of standing up there in front of everyone and collecting the presidents cup
the only trophy i will not be collecting
EVER
sucks
because the team was amazing this year and western province really cleaned up
i was proud to be apart of it, and i am so stoked for everyone that ripped it up in the Contest

like super early .I think my dear mother is punishing me for not booking my own flights

yeah but we did something pretty cool today
our landlord guy took us for a traditional breakfast
at 6am
i didn't want to wake up
but Devan made me
okay how weird soup for breakfast.. With meat on the side
like all different kinds of meat that you cut up and chuck in with your noodles and veg
big hunks of bread and organic cheese come along with the deal
and it probably wouldn't be a true Azorean breakfast without a pint of locally made red wine
i skipped the pint and had a glass mixed with orange soda...headache material

so its our last day and i have absolutely no idea what to do
packing doesnt sound fun
and i think we have done every single tourist thing there is to do

Yesterday we ventured forth towards the other side of the coastline
hoping for something resembling a waves

WE DIDNT FIND ANY

We did however find cows

A Geyser that smelt like rotten eggs

A natural HOT and COLD tap..for real!!!

today we woke up with good intentions to go surfing

BUT IT WAS FLAT and some bodyboarding comp was on

so we drove ..it was flat here to..i dont think this is a surfing beach though

so we decided to go look for the hotsprings to swim in

waterfall kept spirits up

Drove some more,up a treacherous mountain pass

After looking for waves. driving.stopping.turning around.driving.stopping. selftimer shots and a lame experience at the sulfur smelling hotspring pools.

we reached the base of a river with the promise of a warm water waterfall a short while down the road.

Ideal for swimming apparently.thats all we wished for. a little swim. we walked and walked and walked some more, for about half an hour

until we found this

the waterfall( if you could call it that)

was cold

there was no pool

and on the way out

sad and defeated

we caught a glimpse of something

that gave us the niggling feeling

that perhaps just maybe

we took the long walk of shame

up the wrong river
